Who should apply?
Do you have beautiful handwriting? We’re an equal opportunity company and have writers from all walks of life, but the one thing that unites them is good handwriting.
Have a look at some of the handwriting examples below and assess whether you think you could be a good match.
We rely on our writers to be forthcoming, to engage with us professionally and be reliable. We are essentially your client and you’ll be freelancing for us. So, it is important you’re able to share how much or little you can commit (we totally understand life happens) at any given time.
As you get better at the handwriting process, you’ll become faster and the time it takes for you to complete a campaign will reduce… or maybe you’re super fast already! 😉
Step One - Prepare your application.
When you write for us, you’ll be given access to the online portal through your scribe profile so you can select and apply for jobs you’d like to work on. Jobs available will depend on which campaigns clients would like to run and which handwriting style they select. The bespoke stationery for each job will be sent out to you as soon as each job has been assigned to you and you’ll use your fountain pen and lightpad to write out the cards according to the Inkpact guidelines.
For the application we just need some details from you and a sample of your handwriting. When writing out your sample please ensure you use your normal everyday handwriting style and only use one style of writing in your application. Applications that include multiple styles of writing on one page, or multiple applications in different styles cannot be accepted. Please only submit an application once as we will be unable to process multiple applications for one person.
Step Two - Apply!
To apply, you’ll need to include a photo of your handwriting (following the copy in the application form), if you already have a fountain pen we would recommend using it to write your handwriting sample! 😀
Once you have submitted your sample, we will keep your application on file and go through them when we are accepting new scribes. Unfortunately we’re not able to give a timeline on this but once your application has been submitted we will consider it during periods of onboarding. We are a small (but mighty!) team so thank you for your patience as we consider applications 🙂

Scribe Application FAQ's
I write in different handwriting styles, should I show all of them on my application?
Please use your normal everyday handwriting style, the one you are most comfortable writing in, and use only one cohesive style of writing in your application. We are unable to process applications that feature multiple styles of handwriting.
I made an error in my application, can I correct this?
If you have made an error in your application regarding your contact details please submit a new form, however if your application has been processed i.e it wasn’t accepted due to an error in your writing sample we are currently unable to accept second applications.
Are you taking on new scribes right now?
Currently our application list is very long and we have a long waiting list of scribes, however if you have great handwriting we would love for you to apply to be kept on file for the future as we are always growing and have different clients with different needs for their campaigns 🙂
Can I submit a calligraphy sample?
We are not currently looking for calligraphy style writing, when applying, please use your normal handwriting.
When will I hear back?
Once you have applied we will keep your application on file. When we are taking on new scribes we will go through the applications in the order of submission, however we will prioritise people already on our waiting list, so it would be difficult to give a timeline of when your application would be looked at. If we love your application but we aren’t ready to take on new scribes we will add your application to our waitlist to consider when we open up onboarding again 🙂
How will I know if my application has been processed?
When your application submits you will see a ‘thank you for your submission’ screen, this means your application has come through to us and is being held for review. If your application is successful/waitlisted/unsuccessful you will receive an email notification letting you know its status.
